Comedian, Actor Louie Anderson dies

(Las Vegas, NV) -- Comedian and actor Louie Anderson is dead.  

He was 68-years-old and had been battling blood cancer. Fellow comedian Pauly Shore wrote on Twitter yesterday that he said his goodbyes to Anderson at a Las Vegas hospital.  

The stand-up stalwart made his late night debut in 1984 on "The Tonight Show." He had several solo stand-up specials on cable television over the years. He was in several films over the years, and achieved critical success after winning an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2016 for his role as Christine Baskets in the show "Baskets."
