(Cupertino, CA) -- The daily online word game Wordle is drawing thousands of players and a bunch of clones.
The Wordle knockoffs are now gone from Apple's App Store. The tech giant confirmed Wednesday it got rid of the clones it had available.
Copycats of the popular word game got backlash from fans after some developers charged for their mobile versions. The original Wordle is available free online and there's no app for it.
