(Richmond, VA)  --  Crews working to dismantle the former Robert E. Lee monument in Richmond, Virginia, have located the famed 1887 time capsule.  This discovery follows last week's opening of a previously uncovered time capsule not referenced in historical documents.  The copper box weighs around 30 pounds and is twice the size of the previous one.  Governor Ralph Northam confirmed the time capsule's discovery in a tweet posted Monday.  The governor's office will coordinate the box's opening.  A Richmond Magazine article from 2017 speculated the capsule could contain everything from period maps of Richmond to a picture of Lincoln laying in his coffin.
