NC Police Chief on leave for telling officers how to get fake Covid vax card

Oakboro, NC  --  A North Carolina police chief is on unpaid leave for telling officers where they can get a COVID vaccination card without getting the shot. 

Oakboro police chief TJ Smith has been put on leave for the next two weeks and will be on probation for the next six months.  Smith has also been informed further violations could potentially lead to his dismissal.  In response to the allegations, Smith said, "It was a mistake, and I shared misinformation."
