Iowa State University intends to 3D print entire neighborhood

(Ames, IA)  --  Iowa State University wants to increase access to affordable homes in a rural Iowa town by 3D printing houses.  The school's College of Design's 3D Affordable Innovative Technologies Housing Project will build an entire neighborhood in Hamburg, Iowa.  The town had severe damage after flooding in 2019.  ISU says its 3D printer can build an entire home in just days.  The project is funded in part by a nearly one-and-a-half million dollar Strategic Infrastructure Program grant.
