(Mayfield, KY) -- A massive recovery effort is underway in Kentucky, the hardest hit from a tornado outbreak.

The governor expects the death toll will top 100 but says most of the morgues aren't big enough. Coroners are coming in from all over the state to help as 18 counties report damage. One tornado was on the ground for nearly 230-miles, wiping out towns and destroying homes.

Experts believe at least 50 tornadoes tore through seven other states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee.
