Poll: Americans' Trust In Media Falls to 2nd Lowest On Record

(Washington, DC) -- A new poll finds Americans' trust in the media is almost the lowest ever.

The Gallup Poll out Thursday finds the public's trust that media report the news fully, accurately, and fairly has fallen four points since last year, to 36-percent. That's the second lowest reading on record, four points higher than in 2016.

Seven-percent of U.S. adults say they have "a great deal" and 29-percent say they have "a fair amount" of trust and confidence in newspapers, TV, and radio reporting.  Meanwhile, 29-percent say they have "not very much" trust and 34-percent have "none at all."
