CDC: Schools Not Following COVID-19 Masking, Vaccination Recommendations

(Washington, DC) -- The CDC is appealing to school districts amid an increase in student COVID cases.  

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky says a large number of new coronavirus cases are occurring in schools because they're not following vaccine and mask guidance.

Dr. Walensky explained the best way to protect children who are not vaccine eligible is to surround them with those who are eligible. She added we know how to protect kids in schools, saying "we have the tools."
