(Madrid, Spain) -- Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal won't participate in this year's Olympic Games or Wimbledon.
He made the announcement Thursday on Twitter, saying he understands it's the right decision. He added it's one he arrived at by listening to his body and discussing it with his team.
In another tweet, he said the fact that there is only a two-week break between the French Open and Wimbledon didn't make it easier for his body to recuperate after the always demanding clay court season.
