Bipartisan Deal Reached On January 6th Commission

(Washington, DC) -- Lawmakers are in agreement on the terms of a bipartisan commission to investigate the events in and around the January 6th Capitol attack.

The independent panel would have ten commissioners appointed by leaders on both sides of the aisle in the House and Senate.

The commission would have subpoena power and would be required to submit a final report by year's end.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy have been feuding over how much the commission would look into.
