NASA Renames Building In Honor Of Mary Jackson

(Washington, DC) -- NASA is renaming its Washington, DC headquarters building in honor of Mary Jackson.

She overcame the barriers of segregation and gender bias to become the first Black woman engineer at NASA in 1958. She worked there for more than 30 years and was routinely passed over for manager level promotions.

A tribute video produced by NASA included interviews with colleagues and several photos of Jackson.
