Best Buy To Give Pandemic Bonuses To Employees

(Richfield, MN) -- Best Buy says they will give pandemic-related bonuses to their hourly employees.

That's in addition to more paid time off for those who choose to get COVID-19 vaccines. The company announced the perks Tuesday, about two weeks after it said it will lay off some store staff as part of a business reorganization.

Best Buy officials did not disclose how much the bonuses will cost the company and they will hold an earnings call before the opening bell Thursday.

Best Buy had nearly 125-thousand employees in January of 2020, but they laid off roughly 40-percent of them in mid-April because of the pandemic. Some of those workers have since been brought back.
