(Williston, ND) – A Williston Police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave after the Williston Police Department received a report of alleged misconduct by the officer.

According to the City of Williston, a report was received September 29 that Williston School Resource Officer Jory Forsberg threatened and used excessive force against a juvenile during Williston High School’s homecoming football game.

In accordance with policy and procedure, Forsberg is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

Williston Police Department administration is working in partnership with Williston’s City Human Resources Department and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation to examine the facts of the incident. The entities will enforce any necessary disciplinary action. The City says any previous misconduct by Forsberg can and may be considered during the course of the internal investigation.

Police spokeswoman Heather Cook tells KTGO Radio that the department has a second school resource officer stationed on the campus -- and that other sworn personnel will be filling in as needed.
