(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has secured a spot in the first GOP presidential primary debate, as reported by POLITICO.
He becomes the seventh candidate to qualify for the event, which is scheduled to take place in Milwaukee on August 23rd.
Burgum has invested a significant portion of his personal wealth into his campaign.
This financial backing has played a crucial role in earning him a place on the debate stage alongside candidates who have enjoyed much more national prominence.
Burgum has spent millions on television ads in Iowa and New Hampshire.
His campaign has also given $20 gift cards in exchange for $1 campaign donations from individuals.
That effort allowed him to secure 40,000 unique donors, which was one requirement for qualifying for the first debate.
