(Fargo, ND) -- The North Dakota Farmer's Union is pushing to permanently remove the ban on summer sales of gas blended with ethanol.

"Obviously we represent farmers and when we can create a demand in the marketplace for corn or other items through a renewable fuel system that's a healthy thing for us to do," union President Mark Watne.

Watne says E 15 and other ethanol blends don't have a negative impact on the environment and says selling the blended gas year-round would help put downward pressure on prices at the pumps.
