(Fargo, ND) -- Senator John Hoeven took time Tuesday to focus on water retention and flood protection priorities for the upcoming Farm Bill.

"Our goal here is to get ideas from you that we will formulate into legislative language, and then for the ones that we think we can get in there, and that we all agree make good sense, we're going to try to write those into the farm bill," said Hoeven.

Hoeven met virtually with the Board of Directors for the Red River Retention Authority. They discussed the Regional Conservation Partnership Program and the Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations Program.  Hoeven says he'll keep in mind priorities and issues discussed during the meeting as he and other legislators write the next Farm Bill.
