(Fargo, ND) -- The tourism and marketing director for the State of North Dakota has just unveiled the new campaign aimed at drawing visitors to the state.

"We always do research because we want to make sure that all of the messaging that we're putting out there is resonating with potential visitors and potential new residents, and so we take the data and the information we get from previous campaigns and we really try to use it to improve the new campaign," said Sara Otte Coleman.

Coleman teamed up with Governor Burgum Wednesday to launch the campaign, and unveil the 100th anniversary edition of the North Dakota State Highway map. Coleman says the campaign named "Hello" is based on survey feedback which shows visitors find their expectations are "exceeded" when they come to the state. Coleman says research shows the state is "perceived more favorably as a place to visit and live, but overall lacks familiarity".

The $3.1 million dollar ad campaign includes the help line 1-800-HELLO-ND and a new hunting and fishing guide which is making a return for 2023.
