Court to hear argument aimed at blocking North Dakota's "trigger law" banning most abortions

(Fargo, ND) -- A state court will hear arguments Friday, August 19th, on whether to issue a preliminary injunction blocking North Dakota’ trigger law related to abortion.

The law bans nearly all abortions, and is scheduled to take effect August 26th.

The Red River Women's Clinic and its Medical Director Dr. Kathryn Eggleston argue the ban violates the state constitution. They're asking the court to block the law while litigation proceeds.

The hearing is set for 9:00 a.m. at the Burleigh County District Court in Bismarck.
