North Dakota among best states for schools in nation

(Fargo, ND) -- North Dakota is ranking near the top for best school systems in the U.S.

Personal Finance Website WalletHub ranks the Peace Garden State as the 8th best for schools across the nation. The study taking into account 32 key metrics, including everything from pupil to teacher ratio and dropout rates to median standardized test scores.

Other key metrics where North Dakota scored well includes:

  • 12th – Math Test Scores
  • 23rd – Reading Test Scores
  • 6th – Pupil-Teacher Ratio
  • 2nd – Median SAT Score
  • 5th – % of Licensed/Certified Public K–12 Teachers
  • 14th – Dropout Rate
  • 24th – Bullying Incidence Rate
  • 1st – Existence of Digital Learning Plan

Minnesota finished 15th in the rankings, while South Dakota ranks 26th.

The best state for school districts in the nation? Massachusetts. The worst? New Mexico.
