(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division has reported a crude oil release Thursday south of Tioga.
According to the Oil and Gas Division, the release occurred at the JMB 14X-15AXD oil and gas well, located approximately 11 miles south of Tioga.
The company running the well, XTO Energy Inc., reported 354 barrels of crude oil were released. The cause was an equipment failure/malfunction.
As of this afternoon, all barrels have been recovered using vacuum trucks.
Product was contained on-site and cleanup is underway. A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor cleanup required.
