(Washington, D.C.) -- North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer is among a handful of republican senators expressing concerns over the reported buildup of 100,000 Russian troops along Russia's border with Ukraine.

"Let's not forget that the escalation of all this has come from one side not the other. The peace-loving freedom-loving Ukrainians, NATO, the United States of America, none of us has escalated this situation," said Cramer.

Cramer and other Senators spoke in Washington Wednesday morning, urging the Biden administration to consider strong sanctions against Russia aimed at deterring Russia.  They're also calling on the President and other countries to provide additional anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons to Ukraine to help the country defend itself against any possible future Russian aggression.
