(Bismarck, ND) -- A group representing North Dakota's Roman Catholic bishops is opposing UND's "gender inclusion" policy.

The new policy would require the use of transgender person's preferred pronouns and allow for students and others to use facilities that align with their gender identity. A letter to families of students was sent by the Catholic Conference on behalf of Bishop David Kagan of Bismarck this week.

The policy has yet to go into effect.
