Three children in protective custody after toddler found alone outside

(Fargo, ND) -- Three children are now in protective custody after a 3-year-old toddler was found outside in the below zero conditions. 

On December 28th, officers were called to the 700 block of 23rd Street South in Fargo at 10:00am. When they arrived, they found a toddler wandering around outside. Two other children were located in a nearby apartment building. No information has been shared on the whereabouts of the parents. 

Police say the children have been place in protective custody, and the case has been forwarded to the Cass County State's Attorney's Office.
