(Grand Forks, ND) -- A man is in custody after leading police in Grand Forks on a chase, then breaking into a random apartment and barricading himself inside Wednesday afternoon.

The Grand Forks Police Department says at approximately 1:19 p.m. an Officer with the Grand Forks Police attempted to stop a male suspect who was riding a bicycle in the roadway and obstructing traffic in the 1300 block of Standford Road.
The suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Clifford Bays, then fled on his bike and eventually entered a building off 11th Avenue North and kicked in a random door, entering an apartment.

A woman inside then came to the door and had said Bays broke in and was hiding in her bathroom. After several minutes, Bays came out and was placed under arrest. He faces charges of Refusal to Halt, Burglary and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Bays also had two active warrants for his arrest.
