(Grand Forks, ND) -- Drones are being used by Grand Forks law enforcement.

Detective Mike Giver says the unmanned aircraft systems provide an important perspective to law enforcement. Agencies such as the Grand Forks Police Department, the sheriff's office and the fire department make up a UAS team that includes 12 drone pilots.

Drones are deployed for situations such as missing persons searches, tracking suspects, and mapping out accident, fire or other scenes.
