Red Cross Announces New Local Executive Director

(Fargo, ND) -- The American Red Cross Minnesota and Dakotas Region has announced that Kevin Mehrer will serve as the new Executive Director for the chapter serving Eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota. 

Mehrer comes into the position with prior Red Cross experience. Before his appointment as Executive Director, Mehrer worked with the Minnesota and Dakotas Region of the Red Cross as Regional Philanthropy Officer for two years. During this time, he focused on building relationships with individuals and organizational donors and exceeded his goals both years.

"Everyone has a Red Cross story," said Mehrer, "I'm looking forward to representing the Red Cross as our chapter's Executive Director, listening to to our community, connecting them to our mission and inspiring them to get involved."

As Executive Director, Mehrer will utilize his educational and professional experiences to engage with volunteers to grow the organization and fulfill the Red Cross mission. With nearly a decade of leading and directing the growth of volunteer- based organizations, Mehrer will undoubtedly provide meaningful support to the Greater Red River Valley Region community as he transitions into his new role.

Previously, Mehrer served for seven years as Senior District Director for the Boy Scouts of America, where he managed fundraising, volunteer engagement, and coaching in his district. Before his time with the Boy Scouts of America, Mehrer engaged with his community as a sports writer at the Minot Daily News. Mehrer graduated from Minot State University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, advertising, and  applied communication.
