City of Grand Forks Asking Residents to Limit Water Use

(Grand Forks, ND) -- There's a way you can help with heightening drought conditions in Grand Forks.

The City is now asking all residents, beginning Friday, to limit their outdoor water use between the hours of 4 a.m to 11 a.m at least two days a week. This would include things like watering lawns.

This action is the city putting into play their Phase I Drought Management and Demand Reduction Plan, which is going into effect due to lowering stream flows in the Red River, while water usage rates continue to rise.

City leaders add that the rising temperatures that appear to be on the way with no rain in sight also played a part in the recommendation being put out.
