New Dean of Students Announced for Lewis and Clark Elementary

(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo Public Schools announced Wednesday that James Moe will take over as the dean of students for Lewis & Clark Elementary School beginning on July 1st, 2021. 

Moe has been the dean of students for Osgood Elementary School in West Fargo since 2018. Prior to this role, Moe simultaneously served as dean of students for two schools at a time; he served Osgood and Freedom Elementary Schools in West Fargo during the 2017-2018 school year, and Aurora and Freedom Elementary Schools in West Fargo during the 2016-2017 school year.

During his time as an administrator in the West Fargo Public School District, Moe helped advance school culture, social skills programs, staff development opportunities, behavior plans, and enrichment opportunities. He also served as an instructional coach and fourth grade instructor throughout West Fargo Public Schools between 2009-2016. Additionally, Moe is a Crisis Prevention Institute certified instructor and is currently the head coach for the West Fargo High School boys soccer team. He is a two-time recipient of the Eastern Dakota Conference and North Dakota State Boys Soccer Coach of the Year awards and has led his team to multiple state soccer championships.

Moe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He also holds a Principal’s Certificate in the state of North Dakota.

He will assume the position from dean of students Beth Olson who will become the principal of Jefferson Elementary School on July 1st.
