Storm-Related Power Failures Plague Much of F-M Metro

(Fargo, ND) -- Hundreds still remain without power this morning, due to last nights storm. Cass County Electric Co-op reporting more than 300 failures in Richland County, with around 50 out, down from 255 in Cass County. Barnes County checking in with 40 outages. The failures in Cass are concentrated south of Fargo. Otter Tail Power says they have less than 200 failures. Xcel says right now, they are clear. In Clay County, lightning struck a Moorhead Public Service substation, forcing power to go down for many on that system, though some say power was restored around 3:30am. Hail was reported in much of the area, as were lightning and high winds.
