Fargo Fire Department Gives Updates on Several Area Blazes

(Fargo, ND) -- After a near handful of fires that ravaged different parts of Fargo over the past few weeks, were learning more about a few of them.

Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson says that the fire that occurred on May 10th at 307 7th Avenue North involved the front steps of the apartment building and has been determined to be intentionally set.  Damage is estimated at $20,000. 

Meanwhile, the fire that also occurred on May 10th at 1420 2nd Avenue South involving a secondary building on that same lot has also been determined to be intentionally set.  Damage is estimated at $16,000.

Erickson did say there are currently no indications that these two fires are related.

Finally, the fire that occurred the next day, May 11th at 6126 24th Street South has been determined to have started on a rear deck of the residence and was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.  Damage is estimated at $105,000.

Erickson added that the Southpointe Plaza Fire, which tore apart several businesses in South Fargo, is also still under invesitgation.
