(Fargo, ND) -- Starting Thursday, the intersection of University Drive and 32nd Avenue North will reopen.
This intersection had been closed as a part of the University Drive North construction project and it will reopen ahead of schedule. This project now enters phase 1B as University Drive remains closed to through traffic between 36th Avenue North and 32nd Avenue North. The new detour for this project will be 32nd Avenue North to Broadway to 36th Avenue North. This current phase is expected to be in place until early July.
The purpose of this project is to reconstruct University Drive between 32nd Avenue North and 40th Avenue North from a two-lane rural roadway to a two-lane urban concrete street, including curb and gutter.
Improvements are not limited to but will also include new storm sewer, street lighting, and a shared use path along the west side of University Drive.
The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-September.
