Construction Begins on I-94 at I-29 Intersection May 10th

(Fargo, ND) -- Starting Monday, May 10th, the North Dakota Department of Transportation contractors will begin project work on I-94. Crews will be present along I-94 and I-29 intersection working on the bridge approach slabs and installing 3in expansion joints. This work is part of a series of phases.

For phase 1, motorists can expect the following traffic impacts along I-94 and I-29 intersection:

  • Two lanes of traffic and ramp access will remain open
  • Different lanes on eastbound and westbound I-94 as contractors progress through the work will be closed
  • Speeds reduced to 45 mph through work zones Motorists should find alternative routes where possible.

Upon completion of the I-94 and I-29 intersection, crews will shift to phase 2 at I-94 and 9th Street East followed by phase 3 at I-94 and 45th Street South. Speeds will be reduced to 25 mph through phase 2 & 3. Motorists should expect delays moving through work zones. All phases of this project are expected to be complete by mid-August.

The NDDOT is urging motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution and expect delays during active construction. Motorists should find alternative routes during peak travel times.
