Red River Zoo Brought to Downtown Fargo Thursday

(Fargo, ND) -- In honor of National Zoo Day, The Red River Zoo took over Broadway Square in Downtown Fargo Thursday.

Executive Director of the Zoo, Sally Jacobson, called the event a great opportunity for everyone to learn a bit more about what the Zoo has to offer.

"It really gives people an opportunity to come out in a great spot and showcase some of our awesome animals and talk about career opportunities," said Jacobson, who braved the rain with staff to host the event.

Animals being showcased to the public included a porcupine, Arya the ferret and even a few snakes as well. The event also featured Jacobson, veterinarian Dr. Tom Colville and Zookeeper and Training Coordinator Emily Swenson.talking about their experiences at the Zoo.

The event ran from 4-6 p.m.
