ND Officials Sound Alarm Over Biden's Order On Oil Leasing

(Bismarck, ND)  --  North Dakota officials are sounding the alarm over President Biden's new executive order pausing oil leasing on federal land.  Governor Doug Burgum said yesterday's order "deals a crushing blow" to the country's economy during a downturn.  He called on Biden to reverse the decision and work with states on new emissions standards.  State Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms says the moratorium could keep oil companies from drilling 14-percent of all well slots that have potential for development if it becomes permanent.
