Bill Would Make Mugshots Confidential

(Bismarck, ND)  --  A new bill is pushing to make mugshots confidential.  Some state legislators say posting the photo of an accused criminal on T.V. or the internet could affect potential jurors or ruin the lives of those who get released from custody and are never charged.  The bill would require all mugshots to remain private unless or until a person has been convicted or there is a compelling public safety concern that would warrant releasing the photo.
