Winter Storm Update

We have one heck of a wind storm heading our way along with "some" snow.  Wind gusts in the Western Dakotas hit 90 mph.  Let's think about that....hurricane force wind gusts!! There have been numerous reports of damage out west.  As that storm moves eastward toward the valley, winds will increase Thursday afternoon to 20 to 40 mph with higher gusts.  Snow will develop along with the increasing winds producing blowing snow and reduced visibility as we head into Thursday night into Friday morning.  The worst part of this storm will occur Thursday night into Friday morning.  I'm expecting 1-3" of snow around the valley with lesser amounts just west of town and higher amounts ( 3-6") from Detroit Lakes southward.  A winter weather advisory is currently in effect but may be upgraded in some areas into western Minnesota.  Please keep up to date on the forecast and travel south or east of the valley on Friday should probably be delayed.
