Senator Hoeven issues statement on 19th anniversary of 9/11 attacks

Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement in observance of the 19th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks committed in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. against the United States.

“September 11, 2001 changed the world forever and will never again be viewed as just a date,” said Hoeven. “On this anniversary, we not only honor the memory of those lost through the tragic events of this day, but we remember why we must continue to stand united in the fight against terrorism. Our hearts go out to the heroes who put their lives on the line to help others, and to those who have answered the call of duty in the days since. As we never forget what we saw on September 11, 2001, we must never forget that our freedom is not free.”
