Nursing homes statewide continue to report cases of COVID-19

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, 272 cases of the deadly Coronavirus have been reported in long term care facilities.

In the last four days alone, 15 facilities have reported cases.

Six Cass County nursing homes are reporting more than 10 cases of COVID-19, while Valley Senior Living and Mandan’s Sunset Drive Prospera Mandan each have reported 10, as well. Leading the state is Villa Maria, in Fargo, with 46 cases.

In Monday’s COVID-19 briefing, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum said it is the plan of the state of North Dakota to test all nursing home facilities across the state. He indicated that there are 44 long-term care facilities left in the state to be tested.

Nursing homes continue to be the focus of testing, Burgum says, as they contain the state’s most vulnerable population.
