DOJ delivers CARES Act funding to North Dakota

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) announced today the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) awarded $2,082,871 to the state of North Dakota through the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program. The funds are appropriated through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, a bill crafted in the Senate which Senator Cramer helped pass.

This DOJ funding comes as part of a $850 million investment as allocated by the CARES Act to assist states, local governments, and tribes to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Today’s announcement provides resources for state and local law enforcement to appropriately combat the coronavirus and may be used for projects and purchases such as overtime, equipment, supplies (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer), and addressing the medical needs of inmates in state, local, and tribal prisons, jails, and detention centers.
