Kellyanne Conway, the Counselor to President Donald J. Trump, says that what North Dakota is doing, in regard to President Trump’s Opening Up America Again plan, is the right thing. Conway, who has served in her position with the President since 2017, appeared on What’s On Your Mind with Scott Hennen on Friday  morning.

Conway, who previously served as Trump’s campaign manager, says North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum is saying all the right things, when it comes to hospital capacity and contact tracing. She says the North Dakota Governor is “looking at the guidelines and adapting them for what’s best in North Dakota.” Burgum had said previously that the state has aligned with the CDC guidelines. He also said, in a press conference earlier this week, that North Dakota would not be a date-driven state, rather a data-driven state, when it comes to reopening.

“He’s being very specific,” Conway said. “Even if your peak is low, you have to see a decline.”

When talking about North Dakota becoming a hot spot in the future, Conway says that she believes Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, who both sit on The White House Coronavirus Task Force, would both say that the state would not likely become a hot spot.
