North Dakota High School Activities Association extends suspension of sports

The North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) has voted to continue the suspension of spring sports, in accordance with Governor Doug Burgum’s executive order requiring the closure of all public and non-public school facilities and due to federal social distancing guidelines.

The winter basketball tournaments and fine arts contests are suspended indefinitely as well, according to Tom Mix, NDHSAA Media Specialist.

The Board of Directors will re-evaluate on May 1 with the resumption of spring sports, winter basketball state tournaments, and fine arts contests to be considered only if a return to in-person K-12 instruction is imminent.
