Winter Weather on its way

The post-Thanksgiving storm predicted is on its way. It is beginning to build to the south and will begin moving northwards towards the Valley later tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota, in effect from 12 a.m. Saturday until 12 p.m. Sunday. The weather service says widespread snowfall amounts of between eight and 10 inches are expected, with areas of upwards of a foot of snow possible along and south of US Highway 2. The storm is likely to impact travel late Friday night through Saturday night.

In addition to the high snowfall amounts, winds are anticipated to gust to upwards of 30 to 40 miles per hour on Saturday.
