City of Williston, officials to celebrate opening of Williston Basin International Airport

City, local and federal officials will gather today in Williston, along with residents, to celebrate the opening of the Williston Basin International Airport (XWA).

Gov. Doug Burgum will join local, state and federal officials at a ceremony this afternoon to celebrate the completion of the new XWA. ; U.S. Sen. John Hoeven; U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer.; former Gov. Jack Dalrymple; Williston Mayor Howard Klug; Winsome Lenfert, Deputy Associate Administrator for Airports, Federal Aviation Administration; Williston City Commissioner Chris Brostuen; and project developer Don Cardon, among others, are scheduled to be in attendance for the ceremony, which is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. at the airport's terminal.

Burgum will highlight the state’s investment in the project and its vital importance to the growing population and economy of the Williston region and the entire state.
